Naked in the Stream

Isle Royale, just North of Michigan’s upper peninsula, is one of the least visited national parks in the country. But writer and arborist Vic Foerster has been visiting the island almost every year for 40 years. Zinta Aistars of The Smoking Poet  sat down with Foerster to discuss his new book Naked in the Stream, a collection of short stories about his experience in the wilderness that is Isle Royale.

The Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club

Amateur radio, or ham radio, has been connecting people all over the world since the early 1900s. By broadcasting over certain radio frequencies, amateur radio users can communicate with people overseas and send out public service announcements when other systems fail. The Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club shows us how what once was an old man's hobby is gaining popularity with the younger crowd.
