Congressman Fred Upton says he's "outraged" by a new leak at the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant near south Haven. The Saint Joseph Republican says he wants to get a first-hand look at the problem along with a member of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission "in the near future".
This week Kalamazoo becomes a virtual time machine as hundreds of scholars arrive for the annual International Congress on Medieval Studies. The 48th gathering at Western Michigan University will include serious academic discussions along with some that are more accessible to the public.
