Yesterday the Supreme Court heard the last of two cases involving the issue of same-sex marriage, one case on the constitutionality of California's Proposition 8. That proposition banned same-sex marriage in the state of California. The other case is on the Defense of Marriage Act.

Tuscan Pie A Sweet Springtime Take On Spinach

Tuscany's sweet spinach pie is a dish that's often associated with Easter and spring.

Easter brings with it many predictable foods: chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, ham, and hard-boiled eggs. But some Italians use the season to feature a surprisingly sweet vegetable dish on their tables.

It's called torta co'bischeri agli spinaci. Francine Segan calls it "Tuscany's sweet spinach pie." Segan is a food historian and author of Dolci: Italy's Sweets. She shared a recipe for the pie for All Things Considered's Found Recipe series.

Michigan's emergency manager law challenged

The lawsuit is just the first of several legal challenges planned. The state's new EFM law takes effect Thursday.
Detroit - Opponents of Michigan's new emergency manager law, which goes into effect today, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Wednesday, saying the legislation deprives citizens of "constitutionally protected rights" and dilutes their vote. A news conference has been set for 10:30 a.m.

Albion College seeks a new president

Albion College is looking for a new president. Donna Randall, who has the job now, says she’ll step down at the end of June but will stay on as the college’s chancellor for one year after that.

Randall has been Albion’s president for six years and was the first woman to hold the position.
