Concert Pianist Alpin Hong & Youth Competition Winner Are Soloists for KJSO's 'Flights Of Fancy'

On  Sunday at 4 pm in Chenery Auditorium, the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra will perform Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with Alpin Hong, in collaboration with the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. The KJSO also features its own youth competition winner, cellist Lydia Schubkegel, and Rimsky-Korsakov's perennial favorite, Scheherazade. Music director Andrew Koehler previews the concert and the orchestra's upcoming summer tour of South Africa, in conversation with Cara Lieurance.
