Attorneys married to members of the military may find it easier to get work in Michigan. The state House passed a pair of bills to admit military spouses to the Michigan Bar without having to take the bar exam.
Attorneys would have to have passed the bar in another state, graduated from an accredited law school, and meet other requirements for the Michigan Bar. Representative Robert Wittenberg of Oak Park says it can be difficult for working military spouses to find time to take the bar exam. The package of bills now goes to the state Senate for approval.
