Bronson plans a cancer center in downtown Kalamazoo. Law enforcement calls for tougher enforcement of laws on e-cigarettes. WMU plays Monday night for a spot in the semi-finals of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament.

Bronson is planning a five story cancer pavilion in downtown Kalamazoo. Construction will begin in May on the 85,000 square foot facility. It will provide various services for cancer services on the Bronson Methodist Hospital campus. Bronson says the center is scheduled to open in 2021.

(MPRN) Law enforcement in Michigan wants to make it illegal for minors to possess vaping products and for retailers to sell e-cigarettes to minors. But an ongoing debate in the state Legislature has police and prosecutors frustrated. Former Governor Rick Snyder vetoed legislation to ban the sale and possession of e-cigarettes for minors. He said e-cigarettes should be classified and regulated like tobacco instead. But now, lawmakers in Lansing are trying to – once again – focus on the sale, not the classification. A University of Michigan study found that for 9th through 12th grades, there was an increase of more than one million nicotine vapers in 2018 as opposed to 2017.

Western Michigan has forced a decisive third game in the first round of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament. The Broncos won Sunday night’s game 5-2 over Colorado College. The Broncos and Tigers will play Monday night to complete the best of three quarterfinal series. The winner will advance to the semifinals in St. Paul.
