The facility would be located in Canada less than one-mile from the eastern shore of Michigan. The company behind the repository, Ontario Power Generation, has agreed it won’t build the site on tribal land without the consent of the Saugeen-Ojibway Nation. Officials with the Saugeen-Ojibway say they expect to have 20 meetings before the end of the year to talk about the site. After that they will hold a community vote on the site, which may include members as young as 13.

In baseball, Western Michigan and Ball State combined for 35 runs Sunday, but it was the Cardinals who won 20-15 to sweep three games from the Broncos in Muncie. It was the first Mid-American Conference series for both teams. Western will play at Michigan State on Wednesday.
