Renowned male chorus Chanticleer is coming to Kalamazoo’s Chenery Auditorium Friday at 8 p.m. to perform their program The Siren’s Call. Music director Jace Witting says the idea for The Siren’s Call came from the tale of the sirens in Greek mythology, but Chanticleer expanded the theme to include songs that reflect temptation, desire, and journey.

Nearly two years ago, a chocolate shop opened in Kalamazoo, called Confections With Convictions--convictions as in the criminal justice system. Dale Anderson employs at-risk young people, teaching them a craft while helping them to craft a better life. 

 Janet Alm has written a book about her experience of becoming a psychic at the age of 50. For almost ten years now, the Mattawan resident has been a psychic medium and animal communicator.
