Nearly 100 hundred jobs will be created in Battle Creek as Post Foods plans to invest $30 million into its facility on Cliff Street, the company announced today. Some key leadership roles will also relocate to Battle Creek as the company closes a facility in Modesto, Calif.
Another global auto supplier is bringing its business to Battle Creek. Bleistahl North America is expected to open a manufacturing facility at 190 Clark Road in the Fort Custer Industrial Park this summer, Doug Voshell, marketing director for economic development group Battle Creek Unlimited, said Thursday.
Battle Creek and another nearby city came in near the top of a national ranking based on business development in 2012. Battle Creek and Jackson tied for second place among metropolitan areas with populations under 200,000 in rankings released by Site Selection magazine. Both cities counted 13 projects last year.
