The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts is a community tradition that draws thousands of people to Parchment over a six-day period in mid-July. In 2022 we celebrate 40 years of Festival plays! We proudly present the 40th cornerstone event, the Festival youth show and family musical in beautiful Kindleberger Park, "BEDTIME STORIES (AS TOLD BY OUR DAD) (WHO MESSED THEM UP)" and "THE WIZARD OF OZ", Wed, July 6 - Sun, July 10.
FESTIVAL DAY, SAT JULY 9TH, showcases the Arts & Crafts Show, Grad Bash Pancake Breakfast, 5K Race/Fitness Walk, The Kindleberger Car Cruise-In, Children's Activities, Friends of the Library Book Sale, Parchment Garden Club Plant Sale, Outdoor Theatre, and Festival Parade featuring our GRAND MARSHAL TERESE BANNER, long-time Parchment resident and beloved district teacher! We send out a special invitation to ALL Festival alumni to find their way home to help us celebrate this remarkable 40th Anniversay milestone event. An Alumni Committee, headed up by Festival originator Shirley "Zen" Campbell, has organized special events for Festival Day including a Pop Up Museum full of Festival artifacts and photos, A Play in A Day workshop and performance presented by Festival alum Elizabeth Keiser, Big Nazo Performance Troupe, Shooting Comet Photo Booth, and much more! Cornhole players of two divisions are invited to enter for a chance to win cash prizes! Backyard Social players will compete on Friday, July 8 at lower ball diamonds in Kindleberger Park. To close out our 40th Festival, we welcome singer/songwriter Matt Giraud back for his fourth engagement at The Stage in beautiful Kindleberger Park as the grand finale of the 40th Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts! Come join us on Monday, July 11 at 6:30pm to listen to the musical genius of this impressive showman!
