Kalamazoo Astronomical Society Public Observing Sessions Looking Up Since 1936 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT From: Joe Comiskey / firstname.lastname@example.org 269-532-6965 (Please do not publish) _________________________________________ Observe the wonders of the universe at Owl Observatory! The Observatory now features a 16" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. In addition, telescopes of all kinds will be set up near the observatory, located at the Kalamazoo Nature Center (7000 North Westnedge Ave.). Upcoming observing date: Saturday, October 9 Highlights of the night include Galaxies of Autumn. Observing Begins: 7:00 pm Along with observing through telescopes, KAS members will be on hand at the start of each session to conduct a Telescope Clinic. Beginners can learn how to properly setup and use their telescopes. Each session also features a Constellation Workshop. Learn to read a simple star map (provided free of charge) and find bright stars and constellations on your own. The workshop is followed by a guided tour of the night sky. Sessions will be canceled if the sky is mostly cloudy or overcast. For cancellation information, please visit the KAS website starting at 6:00 pm on the day of the session.
