Oct 20 Monday
Peel Dream Magazine plays Glow Hall on October 20—their only Michigan date this year, and the kind of booking that might not be possible six months from now.
Fresh off opening for Jessica Pratt, the Los Angeles-based trio is selling out rooms across the country-adding second nights in both Chicago and New York City-and riding the momentum of their just-released mini-album Taurus (Topshelf Records), a companion to last year’s Rose Main Reading Room.
Limited edition Taurus cassettes will be available only on this tour.
Supporting is Tambourina, making their first Kalamazoo performance in years—and their only one planned for 2025. Founders of the Kalamashoegazer Festival and a defining voice in the city’s shoegaze legacy, they return for one night only.
A very special third guest will be announced soon.

River & Rail come to Glow Hall for a special Sunday evening performance. The duo quietly stole the show at Bell’s earlier this year, opening for The Arcadian Wild and leaving with a lot of new Kalamazoo fans. Their songs live somewhere between folk and slow-burning Americana, with harmonies that feel unforced and close, built around voice, guitar, and mandolin.
Two local openers will be added to the bill.

Advance Base is the songwriting project of Owen Ashworth, formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. His music is built from drum machines, keyboards, and tape hiss, but it’s the storytelling that leaves a mark — plainspoken songs about family, memory, work, and the small moments that carry surprising weight. Ashworth’s catalog has quietly shaped indie pop over the past two decades, and his live shows are hushed, magnetic experiences where the room seems to lean in closer with every line.
Moontype, from Chicago, balance intricate guitar lines with pop clarity, weaving lush textures into songs that feel both expansive and immediate. Their debut album Bodies of Water drew national attention for its melodic strength and emotional undercurrents, landing them among the Midwest’s most exciting new voices. Live, they shift easily between dreamlike atmospheres and urgent rock momentum.

Their art is a vigorous blend of joy, compassion and vital virtuosity. Building on their previous programs Music of the Sun, The River and Song for Taos, they offer a ceremony full of original music, movement and wisdom. The Red Willow is a new program built around a work commissioned by Taos Chamber Music Society in the summer of 2023.
With their signature mastery, ETHEL and Mirabal weave a gorgeous tapestry with colors from Native America, Europe, Africa and Asia. At the pinnacle of the program is the central work – The Red Willow Suite – a breathtaking, ambitious piece of music and storytelling, not to be missed. The audience will feel the urge to dance and celebrate, as the space around their hearts grows and deepens.
