Lorraine Caron was a reporter and anchor for WMUK, as well as the co-host of Grassroots. She worked at the station from 1991 to 2013. 

Women Survivors Alliance

June 2nd is National Cancer Survivor’s Day. Judy Pearson of South Haven is a breast cancer survivor and the co-founder of the Women Survivors Alliance. She and another cancer survivor, Karen Shayne, say want to support millions of other women survivors as they move through and beyond treatment. They began working on the issue four years ago. 

Kalamazoo Film Festival

At the 4th Kalamazoo Bicycle Film Festival, 24 short films featuring, or inspired by, bicycles will be shown Saturday at Western Michigan University's Little Theatre

Art Center of Battle Creek

The Michigan Artist Competition will be on display at the Art Center of Battle Creek June 2 through June 29, with an opening artists’ reception on Sunday, June 2, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Moxie Strings at the Kalamazoo Irish Festival

About a year ago, the regional band called String Cheese changed their name to avoid confusion with another ensemble called The String Cheese Incident. The name they switched to is The Moxie Strings. The Moxie Strings play at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 24 at the Riviera Theatre in Three Rivers.

Krasl Art Center in Saint Joseph presents a workshop on making sushi on Saturday, May 25. Foodie Mark Toncray of Coloma will teach the class. He wants to demystify the process of making sushi.
