The Kalamazoo City Commission has interviewed the five finalists for city manager, but have decided not to narrow the pool for now.
WMUK's Gordon Evans spoke with MLive Kalamazoo reporter Emily Monacelli about the search for a new city manager.
MLive Kalamazoo reports that Tuesday's marathon session included one hour interviews with each of the candidates and another two hours of discussion. The commission will meet again Wednesday May 29th at 7:00 a.m. to continue discussion of the search.
But some commissioners are questioning if the field of candidates includes the "right fit" for Kalamazoo. Commissioners Barb Miller, Stephanie Moore and Vice Mayor Hannah McKinney all expressed reservations about the candidate pool.
Current City Manager Ken Collard will retire at the end of the year.
