Kalamazoo and Battle Creek among communities receiving grants to protect water supply systems

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has approved wellhead protection grants for 45 communities in the state. 

Nearly $500,000 is being spread out across the state to help protect public water supply systems. The city of Kalamazoo will receive $49,000 and Battle Creek will get $70,000 through the grant program. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
