Music For The Season From Local Artist Carolyn Koebel

courtesy of the artist

Carolyn Koebel's musical life has introduced her to so many diverse musicians, regionally and beyond, that she no longer sees barriers between genres. The multi-instrumentalist and music therapist  likes to connect these disparate points in her projects. Her latest, In The Moon Of Wintertime, includes 17 seasonal tracks that feature a variety of Koebel's colleagues, including music therapist/guitarist David Melbye, Gretchen Malinowski, cellist Jordan Hamilton, and the late Patricia Pettinga.

In an interview with Cara Lieurance, Koebel introduces the tracks "In the Bleak Midwinter," (featuring Beth Patterson), "Stopping By Woods" (featuring Patricia Pettinga), and "Fallen Snow Brings Silence" (featuring Doug Berch). She says this collection of songs is healing and meditative. It's available at her bandcamppage, along with many other albums.
