A power outage in the Kalamazoo area has closed some Kalamazoo Public School buildings, and shut down Western Michigan University's Kalamazoo campus until 10:00 Tuesday morning.
Consumers Energy reports that the outage left nearly 7,700 customers in the Kalamazoo area without power. Kalamazoo Public Schools says Northglade Elementary, King-Westwood Elementary and Hillside Middle School are closed Tuesday due to the power outage. Western Michigan University's Kalamazoo campus is closed until 10:00 Tuesday morning.
WMUK's regular programming has been interrupted by the power outage. Regular programming will resume when power is restored to campus.
