On WestSouthwest, the president of Western Michigan University's senior class of 1968 looks back at an "amazing time" to be a college student. And we have a rebroadcast from June about the lack of lifeguards on Great Lakes beaches  in Michigan.

Western Michigan University's class of 1968 is holding a reunion on campus this week. Class president Rick Markoff looks back 50 years to a time of turmoil in the United States and of growth at WMU.

In June, Gordon Evans talked with Bridge reporter Jim Malewitz about the dangers on the Great Lakes. A segment of that interview is included in this edition of WestSouthwest.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
