Dalton Arraigned on Murder, Assault Charges

The man accused of killing six people and seriously wounding two others in a mass shooting in Kalamazoo on Saturday has been arraigned in district court. Jason Brian Dalton is charged with six counts of murder. He also faces assault and felony weapons charges. Dalton, who appeared through a video feed, sat silently during the proceedings with a blank expression.

President Barack Obama spoke Monday from the White House about Saturday's mass shooting in Kalamazoo. The President say he's spoken with Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell, Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley, and Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller and assured them that the federal government will provide any support they need for their investigation.

"Victims of a shooting spree are being mourned in Kalamazoo, Mich., where Jason Dalton, the man accused of killing six people Saturday, is expected to be arraigned Monday. Police have been trying to link a motive to what seem to be random attacks." (NPR)

There was a prayer vigil Sunday night organized by Kalamazoo area churches to remember the six people killed over the weekend in a shooting spree.
