Michigan-based band Medicinal Groove will play Friday night at 9:30 p.m. at Shakespeare’s Pub in Kalamazoo with another funk-inspired group called Crime Funk.

On Sunday, Alamo Drafthouse in Kalamazoo will show the silent film Metropolis scored by local band Forget the Times. This is the second live score the group has composed this year after The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari in September.

You won't find too many of these words in Darryl Loiacano's new album Those Who Remain. Loiacano says it's a spiritual album, but it's for people of all religions.

The Ann Arbor band The Appleseed Collective just ended their album release tour for Young Love, which came out in January. The band will play a show with Trout Steak Revival Thursday night at 9 p.m. at Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo.

Singer/songwriter and cellist Fiona Dickinson says she spent her childhood as a "military brat"—living in countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Scotland, and her parents’ home in England. In her music, you can hear influences of classical and folk strung together with haunting vocals.
