This personal appreciation of Glen Bishop and his pivotal role in the history of WMUK was written by former station manager Garrard Macleod, who knew him well.

"Glen Bishop died peacefully at his home in Kalamazoo this past weekend at the age of 84. Glen served Western Michigan University and WMUK brilliantly and faithfully for 45 years. He retired in 1995 as Associate Director of the Division of Academic Services. But his true love at the University was its public radio station, WMUK.

StoryCorps OutLoud Initiative

WMUK will host StoryCorp's OutLoud Initiative in Kalamazoo on November 5, 6 and 7.  The StoryCorps Outloud Initiative is designed to capture the stories of members of the LGBTQ community.  If you and someone you know are interested in recording your story for OutLoud, you can find information about registration through the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center website.

WMUK Wins Three PRNDI Awards For 2014

For the second year in a row, WMUK has taken home more than one prize from the PRNDI Awards. PRNDI stands for the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated. The station won second place in three categories for medium market newsrooms.

Jazz Host Bob Parlocha Passes Away At Age 77

WMUK and the WFMT Radio Network wish to share with you the very sad news that long-time syndicated radio host Bob Parlocha passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon. Parlocha died of a heart attack and had been rehabilitating from an illness over the past year.
