Kalamazoo County Commission Chairman Dave Maturen is running for state House in the 63rd district, which includes parts of Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. State House Speaker Jase Bolger cannot run for re-election in the district because of term limits.
Businessman Brian Ellis is challenging incumbent Congressman Justin Amash in the 3rd district, which includes Battle Creek and Grand Rapids. Ellis is also a former member of the East Grand Rapids School Board.
