StoryCorps

On this Thanksgiving edition of WestSouthwest, we rebroadcast two interviews heard previously on the program. StoryCorps founder Dave Isay and writer, actor and Marine Veteran Benjamin Busch.

Our interview with StoryCorps founder Dave Isay originally aired November 2nd. Isay joined us from StoryCorps in New York just before his visit to Kalamazoo on November 5th. He discusses the current Out Loud Initiative to tell the stories of the LGBT community. Isay also explains the new StoryCorps app, and the idea for a "Great Thanksgiving Listen."

Benjamin Busch is author of the memoir Dust to Dust, his acting credits include The Wire and Generation Kill. Busch is also a Marine Veteran who served two tours of duty in Iraq. Busch spoke at Western Michigan University on Veteran's Day, and will facilitate workshops at Western in January, February and March as part of the "Talking Service" program. The interview with Busch originally aired November 9th.
