On WestSouthwest, concerns about what the loss of soil means for the world supply. And campaign finance records indicate an expensive race for state House. 

Retired Michigan State University Microbial Ecologist Mike Klug is worried about disappearing soil. Klug will speak at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute on Thursday. He tells WMUK's Rebecca Thiele that vanishing soil has potential implications for growing enough food to feed a growing world population. 

Michigan Campaign Finance Network Director Craig Mauger says this could be a very expensive year for state House races in Michigan. Mauger says the pace of fundraising by Michigan Political Action Committees is ahead of this point in 2012.
