WMUK | Earlene McMichael

On WestSouthwest, we sit down with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Cobbs. And we hear about the "Welcome to Kalamazoo" show planned for the May 4th Art Hop in downtown Kalamazoo.

Bill Cobbs sat down with WMUK's Gordon Evans on Thursday. They discusses his background, posiition on issues and plans for his campaign for governor. Cobbs was planning to file petition signatures for the August primary ballot. Since then his campaign has said he won't make the ballot, and will run a write-in campaign for the Democratic nomination for governor.

"Welcome to Kalamazoo" is a lighthearted mix of live music and locally-produced videos about Kalamazoo, along with a guest speaker. The creator Dann Sytsma tells WMUK's Earlene McMichael how the idea that he had for about 10 years came to life.
