The Stockholm Chamber Brass has been setting standards in brass playing since its formation in the mid 1980s. Although it started as a student side project, the group became serious about chamber brass very quickly, according to founding member and trombonist Jonas Bylund. In an interview with Cara Lieurance, Bylund and fellow SCB player Tom Poulson share their perspectives on the world of brass music.

On its first tour of the United States, the Stockholm Chamber Brass will perform certain reputation-building pieces, now modern classics, which were written or arranged especially for the group by contemporary composers. At Western Michigan University, they'll also collaborate with the Western Brass Quintet to perform Anthony Plog's Antiphonies for Two Brass Quintets.
