The Kalamazoo Junior Symphony, led by Andrew Koehler, will present a program titled "Cinematic," playing film music from Star Wars, The Gadfly, and Intermezzo, to conclude its 2014-15 season.

Music director Andrew Koehler praises the musicianship of the KJSO's concerto competition winner, Zachary Brandon. Mr. Brandon will play Franz Waxman'sCarmen Fantasy, a piece originally written with violinist JaschaHeifetz in mind.

The orchestra will also play a suite from the 1955 Soviet-era film The Gadfly, scored by Dmitri Shostakovich. The concert concludes with John Williams' Star Wars suite, which Koehler says the orchestra has been looking forward to performing all year.
