County Administrator Candidate Pool Falls Apart

Sehvilla Mann

It’ll be a while longer before Kalamazoo County hires a new county administrator. On Tuesday the commission announced that Jeffrey Davis of McLean, Virginia has dropped out of the running. He’s the second finalist - out of three - to back out of the candidate pool.

As they discussed what to do next, commission members did not suggest hiring remaining finalist Dave Benda of Traverse City. Instead the county will look into hiring a new candidate search firm.

The Commission tentatively plans to discuss the county's findings at its next meeting in two weeks, and could vote then on how to proceed.
