The Michigan Festival of Sacred Music has provided Juilliard-trained hometown talent Brandon Ridenour with an opportunity to premiere new works this Sunday. The new compositions include a seven-song cycle based on Edgar Allan Poe's writings, called Sacred Space.

After a seven-year stint as a performer, composer and arranger with the Canadian Brass, Ridenour founded Useful Chamber, a New York-based group that brings together classical instrumentalists and singer-songwriters. A new album will be available at the concert on Sunday, which will also feature the premiere of a piece by Kalamazoo composer Elizabeth Start.
