KSO Guest Artist Lana Trotovsek On Her U.S. Orchestral Debut

Violinist Lana Trotovsek, a Slovenia-born Londoner, made her U.S. orchestral debut with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra in its season-opening concert last month. Prior to her performance, she talked about her career to date, her childhood in Slovenia, and the teachers who changed her life.

From her biography: "Lana Trotovsek started to play the violin when she was 4. At the age of 17, Lana was taken under the auspices of Ruggiero Ricci, who was her mentor for 18 months. She has also been guided by IvryGitlis, Ida Haendel, Pierre Amoyal, Tasmin Little, GeorgyPauk, Edith Peinemann, Bernard Greenhouse and MenahemPressler. She studied with VaskoVassilev and RivkaGolani at Trinity College of Music and at the Royal College of Music in London with ItzhakRashkovsky."
