A new test for Michigan eighth graders is coming in April. Michigan prepares for a recreational marijuana market. The K-Wings get a win on the road.

(Michigan Radio) Michigan's eighth graders will have to take a new test this April. They'll be taking the College Board's PSAT 8/9 in math and English language arts. That test will replace the M-STEP test previously used for those subjects. A Michigan Department of Education official says Michigan will be the first state to require the PSAT 8/9 to assess eighth graders. Eighth graders will continue to take the M-STEP in science and social studies.

(MPRN) The head of Michigan’s marijuana-regulating agency says he expects out-of-state consumers will travel to the state to buy and use pot once a recreational market is up and running. Michigan already allows medical marijuana, and it’s now legal for adults to use recreational marijuana. Andrew Brisbo, who is in charge of Michigan’s marijuana program, says people who try to bring marijuana from Michigan to another state will be taking a risk. That’s because marijuana remains illegal under federal law. Michigan voters approved the recreational use of marijuana last November.

(MPRN) The Michigan Supreme Court has agreed to decide a case over private emails from the office of former Attorney General Bill Schuette. Progress Michigan sued Schuette for access to documents while he was still in office. The group says Schuette and his employees used private emails for public business. Schuette has denied the allegation and says such emails do not exist.

In hockey, Kalamazoo scored three times in the first period and went on to a 4-3 victory Wednesday night in Fort Wayne. The K-Wings will play their final home game of the regular season Saturday night when they host Wheeling at the Wings Event Center.
