Bassist Edgar Meyer recently gave a solo concert in Kalamazoo to open the Fontana Chamber Arts season.

Mr. Meyer and Fontana director David Baldwin sat down with Cara Lieurance before the concert and discussed his career, his approach to bass playing, and his work as a composer. He credits his association with such various artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Chris Thile and Joshua Bell to the simple fact that, in his words, "I can write."
