Grandparents Parenting Kalamazoo: Support Group

New Support Group for Grandparents Parenting Grandchildren
Are you a grandparent raising your grandchildren? You are not alone. More and more families in Kalamazoo are finding themselves in this situation, often unexpectedly, and it can bring feelings of stress, overwhelm, and isolation.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is launching a Grandparents Parenting Support Group, meeting the third Thursday of each month from 12:00–1:30 p.m. beginning September 18. Each gathering will include time for peer sharing over lunch, followed by a presentation from a community professional.

Fall guest speakers include:

· Sept 18 – Paul Hoskins, Family Therapist

· Oct 16 – Nathan Reed, RD, WIC Supervisor

· Nov 20 – Lauren Cooper, Youth & Family, ISK

· Dec 18 – Dr. Stacey Marquee, Clinical Psychologist

Free pre-school age childcare will be provided. Meetings are open to all kinship caregivers and will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 247 Lovell Street in Kalamazoo (ample parking available).
