How Parchment Changed

How Parchment Changed

How Parchment Changed – Part 3 of Our Town: Parchment’s Early History presented by local historian Cheryl Lyon-Jenness.

This three-part program explores Parchment’s early history including the role of Jacob Kindleberger in the development of the Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Company, the growth of Parchment as a “model community for the world,” and the changes in the city as the paper industry evolved in the 1950s and 1960s. Each program will include a talk about Parchment’s early history, an opportunity to browse through archival materials from the Local History Room, and refreshments from Parchment’s past.

Advance registration is requested to make sure we have enough chairs and refreshments. Register by calling the library or online at www.parchmentlibrary.org.
