Solar Eclipse Watch Party

Solar Eclipse Watch Party

Bring your eclipse glasses or indirect solar viewers and join us on the lawn (weather permitting) to watch the moon take a bite out of the sun! The partial eclipse will begin for us at 1:54 p.m. when the moon touches the edge of the sun. Maximum eclipse will occur at 3:10 when the moon will cover approximately 95% of the sun as viewed from our location. The eclipse will end at 4:24 p.m. when the moon leaves the edge of the sun.

This eclipse will be a total solar eclipse when viewed along a path that stretches from Mazatlan, Mexico to Gander, Canada, and we’ll have livestreams of the eclipse from several locations in the path of totality available to watch inside the library. Totality begins in Mexico at 2:09 p.m. our time and ends in Canada at 3:46 p.m. our time.
