He is a graduate of Western Michigan University with both a B.A. and an M.A. and credit for helping found WIDR-FM during his student years. His resume includes stints at WUHQ-TV, and the news Departments at WKFR, WNWN and WKZO/WVFM where he finished his career as News Director at the Midwest Radio cluster in Kalamazoo.
Now semi-retired he continues to cover local government for multiple outlets, including WMUK. “I feel a duty to the community to provide stories from these essential beats as local news coverage continues to shrink”.

Student enrollment is down in Michigan but the number of students in Michigan’s teacher colleges has dropped even more.
