State fairground redevelopment plan questioned

Former NBA superstar Magic Johnson and a family friend from Lansing have the only plan being considered by state authorities for the former state fairgrounds in Detroit. They’re confident their plan will help the community. But, as Michigan Now’s Chris McCarus reports, some people in that community disagree. They say close to half of the land would be turned into parking lots. A group called Growtown wants the area used for energy and urban agriculture projects instead.
