June unemployment rate in Kalamazoo area down slightly from a year ago

Jobless rate in Calhoun County unchanged from June of last year.

Jobless rates in most Michigan's labor markets were relatively stable compared to a year ago. The Michigan Department of Management, Technology and Budgetsays most areas saw modest increases in unemployment compared to June of 2012. The Kalamazoo labor market was one of five in the state where the seasonally unadjusted jobless rate dropped. The Battle Creek labor market was one of two in the state where the jobless rate was unchanged compared to a year ago.
