The American Red Cross is calling for more blood donations following this week's winter storm.
A news release from the Red Cross says recent winter storms caused the cancelation 280 blood drives in 25 states, and 30 blood drives in the Great Lakes region.
As a result there were about 850 fewer blood and platelet donations over three days.
Appointments can be made by callling 1-800-733-2767 or through the Red Cross website.
