Detroit Born Poet Philip Levine Dies

Detroit born poet Philip Levine has died. He served as Poet Laureate of the United States and wrote about working on a General Motors' assembly line. 

Levine was also the winner of two national book awards. He died Saturday of pancreatic cancer in Fresno, California. He was 87. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
