Federal Lawsuits On Flint Could Be Off The Table

A federal judge dismissed a case against the state on the Flint water crisis Tuesday. And the Gongwer News Service says that could close the door on all federal lawsuits dealing with Flint’s water. Judge John Corbett O’Meara quoted a federal appeals court ruling that litigation about unsafe drinking water cannot be heard in federal court unless filed under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Multiple lawsuits on the Flint water crisis have already been consolidated into federal court cases. The plaintiffs in Tuesday's dismissed case, Boler v. Earley, plan to appeal the decision.
