(MPRN-Lansing) Congressman John Conyers will face an ethics investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and using taxpayer money to cover it up.

Michigan Democrats were among those to join the call for the House Ethics Committee to look into sexual harassment allegations against Congressman John Conyers.

Conyers denies he sexually harassed anyone, but he acknowledges a financial settlement with a former staffer. A report from the newsite BuzzFeed says the money came from his office account, and was paid as salary for a no-show job in his office. Both of those would appear to be violations of House rules.

The Detroit Democrat is the longest-serving member of the House and a legend of the civil rights movement.
