We continue interviews with candidates in contested primaries this summer.
Battle Creek City Commissioner Andy Helmboldt is one of three Democrats running for state House in the 62nd district. Helmboldt hopes to succeed fellow Democrat Kate Segal in the House. She can't run for re-election because of term limits.
Kalamazoo Township Trustee Pamela Brown Goodacre is running for the Democratic nomination in the 60th state House district. Sean McCann is running for state Senate, rather than seek another term in the House. Goodacre is one of three Democrats running for the state House district that includes Kalamazoo.
