On WestSouthwest, a new effort to eliminate the racial disparities in infant mortality in Kalamazoo County. And the founder of the Iraq Oil Report, Kalamazoo native Ben Lando, tells us Iraq is "close to the brink."

  

The kick off event is being held on Friday for  the Kalamazoo Infant Mortality Community Action Initiative. WMUK's Earlene McMichael spoke with YWCA of Greater Kalamazoo CEO Grace Lubwama and Deborah Davenport, Director of the Office Community Health Services in the Los Angeles Department of Health. 

WMUK's Gordon Evans spoke Iraq Oil Report founder Ben Lando and the Report's Baghdad Bureau Chief Ali. They discussed security and politics in Iraq. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
