Kalamazoo College has been through a "tumultuous" period, according to its president Eileen Wilson-Oyelaran. She talks with WMUK's Gordon Evans and Kalamazoo Gazette reporter Emily Monacelli about the college's response to online threats and racial tensions. Wilson-Oyelaran also discusses expanding the Kalamazoo Promise to private schools, including K-College.
Part of going to college is taking what are known as "general education" classes outside of a student's selected major. Kent State education scholar Paul Gaston tells WMUK's Sehvilla Mann that universities should continually examine their core programs. Gaston will speak at Western Michigan University on Thursday.
