Western Michigan University President John Dunn is interviewed by WMUK's Gordon Evans and Kalamazoo Gazette reporter Emily Monacelli. They discuss a wide range of topics, including possible development of the Old Colony Farm Orchard, tuition and the Mid-American Conference's stand on Indiana's new "Religious Freedom" Law. Dunn was also asked if recent changes to his contract signal that he is contemplating retirement.
University Alabama Professor Emeritus John Bolland sent some of his students into the poorest neighborhoods of Mobile and Pritchard, Alabama. He says the results of this surveys show a hopelessness among the young people living there. Bolland, who speaks at Western Michigan University on April 7th, says that hopelessness must be addressed to make substantial progress on the issue of poverty.
