On WestSouthwest, the Family Health Center of Kalamazoo is launching a new mobile clinic focused on Kalamazoo Public School students. And Congressman Dan Kildee discusses Flint water, Americans held in Iran and chances for meaningful action in an election year.
A new mobile health clinic will begin visiting Kalamazoo Public schools this week. Family Health Center CEO Denise Crawford says the it's the best way to reach students in the district, especially underserved populations. She says the mobile clinic will provide services such as checkups and immunizations, normally offered at their outpatient clinic.
Congressman Dan Kildee has been critical of how the state has responded to elevated levels of lead in Flint drinking water. He says the Environmental Protection Agency should also be held accountable. But Kildee says the crisis demonstrates a debate over the role of the federal government. The Flint Democrat also discusses the year ahead in Congress and a Flint man still being held in an Iranian prison.
