Peace During War

On WestSouthwest, Kalamazoo County's new administrator discusses his plans for the county. And a documentary about two former opposing gang members in Kalamazoo.

Terrence Neuzil started work as Kalamazoo County Administrator in December. He sat down with WMUK Local Government and Education Reporter Sehvilla Mann, Gordon Evans and Kalamazoo Gazette Reporter Emily Monacelli. Neuzil discusses plans for the county workplace, facilities, transparency and other issues.

The documentary Peace During War tells the story of Yafinceio Harris and Michael Wilder. They were on opposite sides of a Kalamazoo gang feud. They met again years later, after prison while attending classes at community college. They have become friends and launched a youth mentorship program in Kalamazoo. Western Michigan University Communication Professor Jennifer Marchiolatti produced and directed Peace During War. It will be shown Wednesday afternoon at Western Michigan University.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
