On WestSouthwest, we sit down with Congressman Fred Upton. And the Pew Charitable Trusts looks at the "State of the States."

The House and Energy and Commerce Committee is scheduled to hear from Environmental Protection Agency officials on Friday about the water crisis in Flint. The committee's chairman, Republican Congressman Fred Upton, says there are more question about the lead contamination of Flint's water. He also discusses his 21st Century Cures legislation, concussions, the fight against deporting Turkish immigrant Ibrahim Parlak, and why he hasn't endorsed anyone for President yet.

The Pew Charitable Trusts is releasing its State of the States report this week. Stateline Executive Editor Scott  Greenberger tells us what issues they're focusing on at the state level. He says some of the issues in Michigan are also at the top of the agenda in other states.
