The Help Now Fund was created after Saturday's mass shooting that left six dead in the Kalamazoo area. Battle Creek Community Foundation CEO Brenda Hunt, Kalamazoo Community Foundation CEO Carrie Pickett-Erway and the CEO of the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region Mike Larson have developed the fund to address short and long-term issues. Pickett-Erway and Larson joined WMUK's Gordon Evans.
University of Michigan Professor Jonathan Freedman discusses Jewish identity at Kalamazoo College this week. Freedman spoke Wednesday night on the intersection of Jewish and gender identity in the Amazon program Transparent. Thursday night he will be part of a discussion following a production of the play Bad Jews.
